Ben Sheppee - VJ Director / Producer. Having worked in several countries as a motion graphic designer, Ben Sheppee has developed a reputation as a director / producer across several video genres. Known widely for his efforts running the creative video arts label "lightrhythmvisuals" and writing for several publications in the design world, Sheppee also has a strong sense of commercial application and media messaging which has helped clients deliver impactful marketing in the US, EU and Japan with clients ranging from iTunes to FOX and established artists in the music industry such as Exile and Aoyama Thelma.

His more creative projects have been selected to open the Hollywood film festival, Resfest and Primavera Festival in Barcelona. Selected by DJ Magazine as one of the worlds leading top 20 VJ artists on several occasions, and his company winning the "Best Content Provider" category, Ben Sheppee stands as one of the leading developers in the visuals scene and has developed a strong reputation through collaborations with other leading artists.

Sheppee currently lives in Tokyo performing/exhibiting internationally. Working as a visual artist since 1998 last year he accomplished recognition in the worlds Top 20 VJs charts (DJ magazine #13) and is widely known for his efforts running the label lightrhythm visuals. Commissioned by ITV, VJTV, and recently working with UITJ for Japanese Television his works and performances aim to open up new audiences to the visuals movement. Recently opening the Hollywood Independent Film Festival, Res Fest in San Francisco and AV Social in London, he works closely with many lead performers in the visuals scene, sharing and remixing work which is later distributed through his label efforts.

Originally an installation artist - Sheppee would carry 8 slide projectors to each gig and produce lightsculptures at underground events in London. Relocating from the UK to San Francisco in 2003 his art form was encouraged by visual gurus on the west coast and he moved into video as well. Working closely with Dimension7 studios he developed an aesthetic, and starting publishing his work and the work of others under the name “Lightrhythm Visuals Ltd”, his most recent release being a collection of eleven audiovisual works, each remixed by a major name in the VJ scene, and compiled as a multi-angle DVD with hidden tracks built into the menu system.

Promoting AV work through his regular event Visualux he is pushing boundries on the artform by designing VJ performances for multiple screens to give the effect of a holographic 3d space. Recently Sheppee wrote for two VJ books has given presentations on visual history for Juice magazine. He is working on a new album which will be released in 2008 and is planning a tour next year through the EU.
